Full Description
Cost of materials (millions of dollars). This includes the total delivered cost of
raw materials, parts,
and supplies put into production or used for repair and manteinance, along with purchased
electric energy
and fuels consumed for heat and power, and contract work done by others for the plant.
This excludes the costs
of services used, overhead costs, or expenditures related to plant expansion. Because
MATCOST includes
energy spending, to calculate spending on non-energy materials one must use (MATCOST-ENERGY).
